I donno how tensed the leaders of various parties are, but I am real tensed about the election results today, because I voted for first time... :) What is more interesting is the traditional switching of friendships and enemity between the parties.. I am stunned by the way the 3rd front parties are changing their individual decisions irrespective of the other parties included in the group.. Anyways, we have to wait for few more hours to have the complete results.
The real drama starts after the results... The independent candidates have utmost priority and will be tempted by all the parties craving to reach the magic figure and form the government. More interesting part is when the winning candidates switch their parties and ideals overnight. This maybe because of their interest for ministership or the tag- ruling party candidate. The seniors of the party with majority will be angry that the immigrants are being given more importance, and they start attention-seeking programmes- press meets, writing letters, revealing secrets.
I really wish for a rule that considers the candidates winning as appropriate only when he/she sticks to the party he/she is in before the election procedure has begun. Otherwise his/her victory should not be considered at all and the runnerup should be declared to be won. Because, most of the voters do not consider who the candidate is, and they vote for him/her because of their interest in the party he/she is representing. If after winning the candidate switches his/her views overnight, the whole procedure of representing a party seems to be absurd. Though, it is obvious that the so-called leaders' prime interest is their own welfare, (throwing aside the voters' welfare) the group interests are to be preserved, atleast to some extent. Otherwise there is no point in representing parties. The whole switching procedure should be completed before the commencement of elections. I can say that those leaders who stood with the parties they chose when they started their political career, can be counted on fingers.
Anyways, let us hope for the best, in the best interests of the state and the nation.. :)
